FRICTION WEDGE

The utility model relates to railway transport, more particularly to the design of a vibration damper for a freight wagon bogie. The technical result is an increase in the reliability of operation of a friction wedge. A friction wedge comprises an inclined wall having a depression and a through opening in the latter. Furthermore, a plate which is secured by means of a fastening element mounted in the opening and having a longitudinal slot is mounted in the depression. The friction wedge is manufactured from grey cast iron of grade GG class 35 for railways and is subjected to bulk temper hardening. The plate is formed from a polymeric composite material or Oxafen, or carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The through opening is reinforced from the internal side of the inclined wall with a boss.
