INSERTION OF CATALYST INTO DRY FIBERS PRIOR TO RESIN IMPREGNATION

Method for providing a preform comprising obtaining a batch of dry fibers, obtaining a batch of catalyst capsules comprising a catalyst that accelerates polymerization of monomers of a resin and being encapsulated in a shell that is rupturable under predetermined conditions to thereby release the catalyst, interspersing the catalyst capsules among the dry fibers and attracting and/or attaching the catalyst capsules to the dry fibers. Afterwards a resin not containing catalyst is impregnated into the dry fibers to obtain a composite part to be used in an aircraft.
