CELDA FOTOVOLTAICA TIPO TANDEM COBRE - ZINC.

The present disclosure is related to a tandem-type solar cell consisting of a vertically stacked solar cell system one above the other in order to take full advantage of the photons contained in the entire solar radiation spectrum. In a conventional single-junction solar cell, only photons with greater energy can be absorbed. With a tandem system, photons can be absorbed over a greater wavelengths range, the photocurrent in this type of cells is significantly higher than that generated with simple junction cells, making possible that the conversion efficiency of the tandem cell to be greater. Thus, conditions are generated so that the generated electrons of the upper cells and the gaps generated in the lower cell, find available states that favor their transport via tunneling, by means of a semiconductor, which in this case is Mg2O. These electrons are free to participate in the electrical transport processes of the layers of the other components, CuSO4, Mg(OH)2 and ZnSO4. For this pr ocess, SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) is used as a plastic vehicle, given its properties and its ease to breathe oxygen from the film, which is projected to be used in glass, without retaining the particles inside the room. That is, a transparent film, contac-type receiving solar energy and at the same time cooling the galss surface, thanks to a Mg2O channel.
