Biesterfeld Spezialchemie moves to new central warehouse
Biesterfeld Spezialchemie has completed its move to a new fully equipped central warehouse as part of a new European logistics concept.
The company announced on 18 that the new warehouse in Solingen, Germany has added 25% to its storage capacity while increasing productivity through “an optimised flow of goods”.
According to the German distributor, the company's new logistics concept is “highly efficient”, taking into account “the day-to-day challenges encountered in the supply chain.”
The Solingen warehouse will handles global distribution to customers as well as supplying materials to European subsidiaries.
The new high-bay warehouse has dynamic storage and room for movement and features electronic process integration throughout the value chain. This, said Biesterfeld, allows for a uniform and transparent flow of information and goods.
"It goes without saying that this includes a seamless batch tracing system and efficient, reliable services geared towards the needs of our partners," explained Andre Neddermann, logistics manager at Biesterfeld Spezialchemie.
"By working with long-term professional logistics partners, we continually develop our processes to ensure efficiency."
According to the Hamburg, Germany-based company, there are surveillance systems providing protection against fire and theft, while measuring technology ensures compliance with climate requirements for storage.
“The stock management system is also specially-designed for the strict material and quality requirements that apply to demanding products such as raw materials for pharmaceuticals, food and chemicals,” the German distributor added.
